For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of caring for dogs, cats, and the families who love them.
After owning and operating a small animal veterinary practice for over 20 years, I began working as a relief veterinarian in both general practices and emergency hospitals across the country. That experience allowed me to care for thousands of pets in a variety of situations, and I've learned that every pet owner will eventually face an unexpected emergency.
Throughout my career, I've received hundreds of phone calls from friends, family members, and clients asking what to do when their pet was injured or became ill. Many times, they didn't need to make an expensive and stressful trip to the emergency hospital. They simply needed the right supplies and someone to walk them through what to do next.
Those moments inspired me to create PetMD Essentials. My goal has always been simple: to help pet owners feel more prepared, confident, and less overwhelmed when the unexpected happens. Every product I will offer is something I personally trust, use, or recommend in my everyday practice for my own pets and the patients I care for.

I'll continue adding products I've personally developed, along with other products I've trusted and relied on throughout decades of veterinary practice. My goal is to offer practical, high-quality products that I believe every pet owner should have on hand—from puppyhood and kittenhood through the senior years.
